Marriages

“The union of husband and wife in heart, body, and mind is intended by God for their mutual joy; for the help and comfort given one another in prosperity and adversity; and, when it is God's will, for the procreation of children and their nurture in the knowledge and love of the Lord.”

“Therefore marriage is not to be entered into unadvisedly or lightly, but reverently, deliberately, and in accordance with the purposes for which it was instituted by God.”                            (Book of Common Prayer, pg. 423)

If you are interested in being married at St. Aidan’s, please call the church office at 770-521-0207.

Before you call, please:

  • Don’t finalize any dates or times for services before talking with Fr. Rob.  We do our best to schedule weddings on the date you desire, but pre-existing conflicts may exist.

  • Know that only rare exceptions are made for couples who are not members of St. Aidan’s.  If you are new to Alpharetta, or maybe you are looking for a church home and a place to get married, please visit us on Sunday morning to see if St. Aidan’s could be your parish home.  We’d love to have you join our church—and for it to be a place where your marriage and your walk with God can be nourished.

  • Understand that a weekend workshop at the Cathedral of St. Philip and four sessions of pre-marital counseling with Fr. Rob or another priest are required.   At those counseling sessions, we’ll discuss faith, communication, dynamics of family, intimacy, money and other topics so that couples will have a good foundation for their years together.

  • Know there are other wedding policies that a couple will receive once the above details have been solidified.
