Women's Groups

Episcopal Church Women (ECW)

All women of St. Aidan’s Church are automatically a member of ECW and participation is voluntary.

ECW usually meets once a month at various locations and the purpose of our group at this time is primarily for social fellowship among women of the church. Each month different volunteers coordinate the activity or meeting that centers around a variety of subjects.  If during a particular monthly event there is a charitable result that can benefit an outreach organization or St. Aidan’s and its ministries we would consider it a bonus, yet not a requirement.

We do not have officers or a treasury and any events are “break even” — meaning that attendees cover their own expenses and no profit is to take place unless the group decides to do a fundraiser/benefit specifically.

Daughters of the King (DOK)

The DOK is a lay order of women with a rich, 125-year history.  Women in the DOK reaffirm the promises of the Baptismal covenant, pledging themselves to a lifetime of prayer, service and evangelism.  Daughters, who can be recognized by the distinctive silver cross they wear each day, are committed to enhancing the spiritual life of their parish and following the Order's Rule of Life.

The group meets year-round on the first Saturday of each month from 10am-noon in the church library.  In addition to monthly meetings, DOK participates in occasional retreats and service projects. T o learn more about the DOK, call the Church Office or visit the national DOK website at http://www.doknational.com.
